One month ago, we launched Beyond Blacksburg: Removing Barriers to Study Abroad, a crowdfunding effort to raise study abroad scholarships for underrepresented students at Virginia Tech. We are so excited to announce that in the past 30 days we have raised $7,670 in study abroad scholarships! The scholarships will benefit students who without support, may not have had access to study abroad opportunities.
A heartfelt thank you to all of you who generously donated and shared the campaign. We are so thankful. And a big thank you to all of the study abroad students we featured throughout the campaign. You all are the face of our campaign, and your words of encouragement and reflection were critical in spreading awareness about the value of studying abroad.
