A Study Abroad Filled Weekend – Fall Family Weekend & Admissions Open House

It’s going to be another busy weekend in Blacksburg! Fall Family Weekend and Admissions Open House brings families and potential students from all over to Virginia Tech. The Global Education Office is joining in on the fun.

We have events scheduled all weekend long to help current and prospective students (and their families) learn about the variety of international experiences Virginia Tech has to offer. The events are open to everyone – no need to be participating in either Fall Family Weekend or Admissions Open House to come!

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 12

Study Abroad 101 Presentation | 2:30pm – 3:30pm in the Graduate Life Center Multipurpose Room | This presentation is offered again on Saturday and Sunday at 9:00am.

• The Global Education Peer Advisors will present on a variety of study abroad related topics, including the different opportunities available, the application process, scholarships and financial aid, advising resources, and the benefits of an international experience.

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 13

Study Abroad 101 Presentation | 9:00am – 10:00am in the Graduate Life Center Multipurpose Room

• The Global Education Peer Advisors will present on a variety of study abroad related topics, including the different opportunities available, the application process, scholarships and financial aid, advising resources available, and the benefits of an international experience.

Academic Showcase Information Fair | 10:00am – 12:00pm in New Classroom Building

• The Global Education Office will have a table at the Academic Showcase Information Fair. The Fair is intended to increase student awareness of offices and services designed to help them succeed academically. Stop by to learn about how the Global Education Office can help kick-start your international experience.

Open House at the Global Education Office | 10:00am – 2:00pm on 526 Prices Fork Road

• Interested in studying abroad? This is a perfect time to come chat with us about it! Stop by our office anytime between 10am and 2pm to meet the GEO team and learn more about the study abroad process. We’re located right next to the Edge and across from Surge. Light refreshments will be served.
