Meet Casey!

Casey Molina is a senior majoring in Multimedia Journalism, with a minor in International Relations. She participated in the “Linking Lives: Creating Sustainable Social Change” trip to Lugano, Switzerland and Ethiopia. Some of her favorite memories were swimming in Lake Como and visiting London's Universal Studios Harry Potter set. In addition to traveling to Europe, she has done multiple service abroad trips to the Dominican Republic and hopes to work abroad in Spain when she graduates.

Meet Jena!

Jena Sturm is a California native, senior Human Development major with a minor in Leadership and Social Change. After graduation, she hopes to attend graduate school, studying school psychology. Jena began her study abroad experience in high school, when she went to Spain for a summer to study in Salamanca. In the Fall of 2017, Jena went abroad once again to Lugano, Switzerland and Rwanda on the “Linking Lives: Creating Sustainable Social Change” faculty-led program. In addition to taking marketing and psychology classes in Lugano, Jena worked for two non-profit organizations in Rwanda, teaching English and fostering valuable cultural exchanges. She is itching for another opportunity to go abroad and experience all that this world has to offer.

Meet Christine!

Christine Nassar is a senior, majoring in International Studies with a business concentration and minoring in French, Japanese, PPE, and Psychology. She studied abroad in Nagoya, Japan during the fall of 2017 through ISEP Exchange. With the goals of improving fluency and understanding global communication from the perspectives of different cultures, Christine took classes in both English and Japanese while abroad. In her free time, she visited other parts of Japan and also traveled to South Korea. Her upbringing in a multicultural household greatly influenced her passion for traveling and studying languages. In the future, she hopes to pursue a career in international affairs, either based in Japan or involving partnerships with Japanese companies.

Meet Caitlin!

Caitlin Huynh is a senior double majoring in French and International Studies with a Global Development concentration. In 2016, she went to Paris, France on the Virginia Tech in Paris summer, faculty-led program. Last fall, she went abroad again for a longer semester experience with ISEP Exchange to the Université de Picardie Jules Verne (UPJV). Through both programs, Caitlin was able to become fluent in French and gain a deeper understanding of French culture and society. Her favorite memories from the programs were being able to travel and reconnect with French exchange students who previously studied at Virginia Tech. In her free time, Caitlin enjoys learning new languages, studying politics and culture, volunteering, and hiking. She is currently researching national identity politics, and how it relates to French immigration laws.
